"We got worried about what is going to happen to us when we couldn't take care of ourselves anymore. We looked at a few options and moving into a private facility is just too expensive. We are fortunate to own our home, so we decided to do some remodeling and make a space for a live-in assistant. We know not everyone is as fortunate as we are."

"I got kicked out when I came out to my parents. I didn't know where to turn. I was lucky to have some friends I could stay with until I turn 18, but then what?"

Heather, 27
Tarpon Springs

"As a trans woman I have had a lot of trouble finding a place to live. I've been kicked out twice when my landlord found out I was trans, and one time just flat denied a rental application. Life would be so much easier if I knew people who could help me deal with this the next time I have to move."

Chris, 44
Gulfport

"Being gay is hard enough in the business world, but I'm living with physical limitations too. People just don't know what to make of me sometimes. If my boyfriend and I ever broke up I don't know who I'd turn to."
